Planting Together – “A Green Initiative”
An Environmental Effort by Auxilium School
Theme: “Soil to Soul” by Nature’s Little Helpers
At Auxilium School, we believe that nurturing nature is a step toward nurturing young minds. “Planting Together” is an initiative that brings students, parents, teachers, and our gardener together to experience the joy of growing something from the earth.
This hands-on activity aims to instill a love for nature, an understanding of soil health, and a sense of responsibility for the environment. By engaging in this initiative, our young learners will see firsthand how life flourishes from the ground up.
This collaborative effort includes students from Grades 3, 4, and 5, parents, teachers, and the gardener.
The Process: Learning Through Action Understanding the Basics – A short introduction on soil, manure, and plant growth, led by teachers and the gardener. A parent will share a brief story on the importance of plants.
Getting Hands Dirty – Children will mix soil, plant seeds or saplings, water them, and label their pots.
Caring for Growth – A discussion on how to nurture plants and integrate green habits into daily life.
Reflecting & Sharing – Kids will share their learnings, and a final group moment will be captured to showcase the journey from soil to soul.
